A homegrown Houstonian, Reyes graduated from Galena Park High School in 1998. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps, serving our country for 4 years before before being Honorably Discharged in 2002. Reyes supports law enforcement and first responders, even receiving a TCLEOSE certification in 2011. Reyes is a Family Man who experiences the same challenges as the families of the 29th Congressional District. Augustine is not a career politician tied to PAC or lobbyist money. He is not a big businessman with investors looking to him to turn a profit. The people of the 29th Congressional District can be assured that Augustine will represent their best interests in our nations capitol.
Augustine Reyes doesn't just talk the talk, he walks the walk! He frequently organizes groups of fellow veterans to volunteer time serving the community at various charitable events. As a teenager, Augustine Reyes helped to tear down crack houses and clear vacant lots and alleys to keep his community safe. Augustine Reyes works to rehabilitate victims of human trafficking and aims to continue tackling these community issues when elected.
Augustine Reyes is a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 31, Journeyman. Augustine Reyes often works within his community to help young people and veterans reach educational and job opportunities through union apprenticeship programs.
Reyes joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of seventeen. He now works tirelessly with disabled veterans and veterans suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
